Photography from Burton Galleries can be viewed at exhibitions in Virginia and Massachusetts, on the Internet, or at the Studio located on the top floor of a barn.  Burton Galleries also sponsors private photography exhibitions in the fall and spring, of various artists.  In addition, Burton Galleries has sponsored other artists like singer Catie Curtis for private concerts.

 

Kyle Anne Burton*, owner of Burton Galleries, began photography as a new stage in life while training for one of several Avon Breast Cancer Marathon walks.  She started taking a camera along during the training and what began, as something to make the training less tedious, became a way of life.  She has been recognized for her “Windows Within Windows” which are photographs enclosed in old wooden window frames.

 

When she in not engrossed in photography, she enjoys sitting around a dinner table talking with friends (who are required to have an exquisite sense of humor) and drinking good wines.  She firmly believes that certain breeds of dogs are superior to most other species due to their incredible sense of loyalty. If you live in Northampton, MA....look for 2 Boston terriers on Main .

*In a former life Kyle Anne Burton was known as Anne S. Gabbard-Alley.  She received her Ph.D. at age 24 in Rhetoric and taught rhetoric and health communication at Southwest Texas State University, the University of Virginia and James Madison University.  She currently is an Emeritus Professor at James Madison University.
